At the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, SAIC-Volkswagen officially unveiled the first mass-produced pure electric version of the Lang Yi model. Compared with the fuel version, the Lang Yi pure electric version has adjusted the design details, replacing it with a thickened white screen and adding a "e-LAVIDA" logo on the left side of the net. It inherits the design style and space advantages of the new generation of Lang Yi, and adds the exclusive modeling elements of Volkswagen brand pure electric models. It adopts the leading "German three electricity technology", equipped with safe battery system, intelligent electric control and efficient electric drive system. In addition, the car is equipped with a 136 horsepower permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum speed of 150km and a mileage of 278 km under comprehensive operating conditions. The new car battery comes from Ningde era, and the battery pack has a capacity of 37.2kWh. It can charge from 30% to 80% in 40 minutes in fast charging mode and 5.5 hours in slow charging mode.

Since its launch in 2008, nearly 4.2 million Lanya models have been sold. Volkswagen Lang Yi sold a total of 35769 vehicles in July this year, an increase of 5.8% over the same period last year. It is worth mentioning that as of July, Lang Yi's cumulative sales have surpassed that of Xuanyi, with a total sales of 252683 vehicles, an increase of 4.5% over the same period last year.

It is worth mentioning that the Volkswagen Group's first MEB pure electric platform factory in Shanghai Anting is also expected to be completed in 2020, with an annual production capacity of 300000 vehicles. In the future, SAIC-Volkswagen will launch new pure electric models with more opportunities on the MEB platform.
