AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/17 Report--
According to foreign media reports, Ford will recall 108399 2015 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ midsize cars because of defective seat belt assemblies.
Ford announced on Aug. 14 that when the temperature in the driver's and passenger's seat rises, the seat belt retainer may reduce the strength of the seat belt, making it impossible for the seat belt to provide normal protection to people in the car in the event of an accident. The vast majority of vehicles affected by this defect exist in the United States market, while 4002 vehicles in Canada and 1023 vehicles in Mexico are affected.
This recall relates to Flat, Michigan, from August 1, 2014 to January 30, 2015.
2015 Fusion models produced at the Rock plant and 2015 models produced at the Hermosillo plant in Mexico from August 1, 2014 to November 24, 2014.
Fusion . In addition, 2015 MKZ vehicles produced at the Hermosillo plant from August 1, 2014 to November 21, 2014 were also affected.
Ford said the defect had resulted in an injury. But a spokesman for the company said the recall was not caused by the injury report. "We attach great importance to the safety of our customers, and we are constantly evaluating our processes to find potential areas for improvement," the spokesman told the media. "We are confident of the methods currently used to quickly identify and solve vehicle problems."
Solution: Ford dealers will solve the problem by using coatings on seat belt pretensioners to protect seat belts. Car owners will receive a recall notice on September 9.
