AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/18 Report--

Honda Motor was originally a motorcycle car manufacturing company, and it only began to develop into the whole vehicle manufacturing market in 1958. After a course of more than 60 years, Honda has surpassed BMW, Chrysler and other well-known car companies to become world-class automakers.

However, it is such a well-known car company that has had an "accident" in the global auto market. In the past two years, Honda has had frequent accidents in the Chinese market, and a large number of recalls have also occurred repeatedly.

In December 2017, a number of Dongfeng Honda 2017 CR-V owners posted online complaints about the "abnormal increase in engine oil", such as suspected gasoline mixed with oil, gasoline dilution, and even a case of serious emulsification of mixed CR-V oil cap, and then the relevant media followed up and exposed the incident. Honda recalled 130455 CR-V vehicles under pressure on May 16th. Then, the Honda Civic was exposed that the oil emulsification increased, and the recall plan was announced on July 9, and the problems of CR-V and Civic were calmed down.

But wave after wave, wave after wave, another car owner exposed CR-V brake failure incident, and not alone, brake failure incident then spread across the country. Honda finally decided to recall an estimated 30509 2018 CR-V models in the Chinese market and give the car a lifetime warranty.

Honda maintained a strong upward trend in 2019, when the global auto market was declining as a whole. Data show that Honda China reported sales results in July, of which Guangzhou Auto Honda sold 55500 vehicles, up 1.7% from the same period last year. Dongfeng Honda sold 60300 vehicles, up 17.6% from the same period last year.

Overall, Guangzhou Auto Honda and Dongfeng Honda sold 861200 vehicles from January to July this year, up 20.5% from a year earlier. Of these, Guangzhou Auto Honda sold 436100 vehicles, up 11.2% from the same period last year, while Dongfeng Honda sold 425100 vehicles from January to July, up 31.7% from the same period last year.

Even if it is such a delicate and beautiful achievement, it can not stop the stall of Accord. On July 30, many car owners revealed that soon after buying Guangzhou Auto Honda Accord cars, there appeared the phenomenon of high-speed stall one after another.

On August 8, Guangzhou Auto Honda filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. Since August 30, 2019, a total of 222674 domestic Accord cars equipped with 1.5T turbocharged engines produced between July 25, 2017 and August 7, 2019 have been recalled. The next day, Dongfeng Honda also filed a recall plan with the Municipal Administration. Its INSPIRE, which carries the same engine, chassis and transmission, stalled like Accord, so it recalled a total of 29297 INSPIRE models.

After years of development in China, Honda has accumulated a lot of reputation. On the one hand, sales are growing against the trend, and on the other hand, frequent quality problems lead to recalls. For a long time, Japanese cars are reliable representatives of quality, and Accord is a benchmark model. It can be found that Honda's quality is not as good as it used to be. If problems are not solved, they will lose the market over time.
