The problem of oil leakage in engine and gearbox has been a headache for countless BMW owners. But if there is a leak in the fuel tank, and if it is filled with oil on this side of the gas station, it leaks there. Does this feel a bit serious?

In fact, due to the oil leak in the BMW fuel tank, in early 2018, brilliance, with the intervention of the former AQSIQ, issued an announcement to recall some BMW 3-series vehicles produced between September 1 and October 31, 2015, totaling 16504 vehicles. But this does not seem to completely solve the problem.

However, it has been learned from the relevant platform that since July, six owners of the 2016 BMW 3-Series have reported to the platform that the fuel tank began to leak a lot after refueling, and the total number of complaints has reached eight.

The previously recalled vehicles were the BMW 3-Series from September 1 to October 31, 2015, but these complaints came from vehicles outside the scope of the recall. If it is conservatively estimated that there are still hidden dangers in the vehicles produced in June 2016, at least nearly 70,000 BMW 3-Series vehicles are also likely to be hit.

It is understood that one of the 3-series owners told the platform about his vehicle oil spill experience, which sounds really terrible.

The owner of a 2016 BMW 320Li had a fuel leak during a refueling, but his vehicle was not included in BMW's previous recall, but the local 4S store gave free fuel tank replacement during the warranty period.

Although he enjoyed the free service, the car owner was still angry and complained to the platform. At that time, while refueling, the fuel tank was leaking at the same time. After seeing this scene, the gas station staff took out fire extinguishers and sand and spread them in the location of the oil leak. After doing a simple treatment, they contacted the 4s store to drag them back.

Obviously, BMW does not attach great importance to the recall incident. Although there are relatively few complaints on the platform, it has learned on the Internet that there are still many car owners complaining about oil leakage from the fuel tank, and these have all happened in the past two years. Their own vehicles are not within the scope of the recall.

According to the Internet, in August 2018, a BMW owner in Shanghai found an oil leak in the fuel tank while refueling at a gas station and urgently contacted the trailer and refused to transport the leaking car because of safety concerns. So the owner called the 4S store again, and the 4S store said that it needed to contact the technician to empty the gasoline in the tank so that the trailer could be pulled. However, the car owner waited for 5 hours and did not see the so-called technician come over. In an urgent situation, the car owner had to win in danger and forcibly drove the oil-leaking car to the 4S store.

The car owner said afterwards that he had seen the news that BMW had recalled some of its vehicles due to the oil spill, but his car was not within the scope of the recall, so he didn't take the matter to heart. He just didn't expect it, and finally got hit.

Brilliance has never made any internal moves to expand the recall batch since the recall in early 2018. While there is evidence that vehicles outside the scope of the recall also had fuel leaks, brilliance BMW did not expand the recall batch. Perhaps it is because the voice of individual car owners is too small to cause much storm.

Frequent failures of a luxury brand have gone against the essence of high quality of a luxury brand. Coupled with the fact that there is clear evidence to prove the problem of the vehicle, but can not attract attention, it is even more palpitating.
