Tesla put the world's first V3 super-charging pile into use in the United States on Wednesday night local time. According to the V3 details released by Tesla, the V3 has a maximum power of 250kW. Tesla's most efficient vehicles, such as the long-range Model 3, can be recharged with a range of 75 miles in five minutes and up to 1000 mph (about 1610 km / h). Tesla said that compared with the V2 version, the V3 charging pile can save users 50 per cent of the charging time, which takes the average user only 15 minutes.
The new pile adopts a new liquid-cooled cable design, which is lighter, more flexible and more efficient. Tesla said that the first beta supercharging station has been opened in the San Francisco Bay area and will expand nationwide in the second and third quarters, and to Europe and the Asia-Pacific region in the fourth quarter.
Compared with V2, V3 charging pile not only doubles the charging efficiency, but also does not affect the power of multiple cars in the same charging station, that is, the maximum charge of one car is 250 kilowatts and the maximum charging time of two cars is 250 kilowatts. Tesla has begun to push updates to Model 3 owners in the United States, and the V3 super charger will be available for more Model 3, while the physical key of Model 3 also adds a summoning function. Due to the battery specifications, the V3 overcharge efficiency is only applicable to the software updated Model 3, while Tesla will upgrade the 120kW V2 charging post to 145kW peak power, and updates for Model S and Model X will be pushed in the next few months.
After the official release of the V3 super charging pile, netizen @ PrivaterBOK concluded that when Model 3 uses the V3 super charging pile to charge, the actual charging power can reach 245kW, and the previous high-speed charging state can be stable at 220kW, which is much higher than the current V2 version of 120kW.

Unlike Tesla, NIO has always been keen on power exchange mode. In November last year, the power exchange network of the NIO Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway was officially completed. The total length of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway is about 2285 km. A total of 18 NIO power stations are located in 14 service areas around Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou and other key cities. According to NIO's plan, more than 1100 exchange stations will be built across the country by 2020, putting in more than 1200 mobile charging cars.
