Heshan City Fire Brigade issued an accident identification letter for this, determining that the fire position of the vehicle on fire is the driver's seat, the fire point is the driver's seat, and the cause of the fire is that the electrical circuit fault of the driver's seat ignites the surrounding combustibles.

On June 4, Mr. Yi signed an agreement with the Porsche Centre to dismantle the vehicle and then handed it over to Porsche China technicians for identification.

On July 23, Porsche's appraisal report came out. According to the report, Porsche team found a part containing metal spring under the seat during the process of removing the seat. It was judged that the part did not belong to the car body part, indicating that it was likely to be part of the lighter, and compared with the compression-ignition lighter, the metal part was found to be consistent.

Porsche China therefore believes that the cause of the fire was not a fault in the vehicle's electrical wiring, but an external cause, unrelated to the vehicle's own oil and hot components.

On the evening of August 19, Mr. Yi negotiated with Porsche Centre again, and finally both parties reached an agreement to replace Mr. Yi with a new car of the same model, which was finally resolved.

The investigation found that Porsche recalled vehicles in June because of the risk of fire, but the recalled vehicles were not Mr. Yi's Cayenne models, but Panamera models.

According to the announcement of the National Municipal Administration, Porsche recalled some imported 2011-2016 Panamera series vehicles manufactured between November 1, 2010 and September 13, 2016, and the number of recalls was 42070.

The reason for the recall shows that moisture in the air may penetrate into the interior of the control unit due to insufficient tightness of the control unit of the air conditioner blower regulator. When the moisture condenses into water droplets to a certain extent, it may cause failure and short circuit inside the control unit. In extreme cases, the risk of fire cannot be ruled out, and there is a potential safety hazard.

Porsche China said that since June 24,2019, free inspections have been carried out for vehicles within the scope of the recall, and temporary sealing strips and relays have been added to the air conditioner blower regulator control unit according to the inspection results to reduce the risk of short circuit in the control unit. After the recall is officially implemented on October 7,2019, Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will replace the improved air conditioner blower regulator control unit free of charge for defective vehicles within the recall scope to eliminate safety hazards.
