According to the China Automobile Association, from January to July this year, the production and sales of China's automobile market were 13.933 million and 14.132 million respectively, down 13.5% and 11.4% from the same period last year. SAIC's sales have also declined in the context of this year's declining car market, with cumulative sales of 3.3771 million vehicles from January to July this year, down 15.73 per cent from a year earlier.

At the 2019 Global Automotive Industry Innovation Conference on August 19, Yu Jingmin, deputy general manager of SAIC, said that sellers of inventory in May and June this year will have a certain pulling effect on car sales in the second half of the year. it is expected to be reflected in car sales in September and October.

According to SAIC's financial results, Roewe and Mingjue sold a total of 730000 vehicles in 2018, up 36.5% from a year earlier. Wang Xiaoqiu, president of SAIC, said, "the goal of 1 million will be achieved in the near future."

Wei to achieve this goal, in the Roewe RX8, Roewe MARVEL X, Mingjue HS and other existing models, SAIC will continue to improve the product camp. The Roewe RX5 MAX, SAIC's first mass-produced intelligent cockpit model, was officially put on sale at a price of 149800-179800 yuan on August 28th.

The intelligent online car is equipped with AR-Driving real-scene driving assistance system 2.0, as well as SKY EYE sky eye system and so on. AR-Driving real-scene driving assistance system is the auxiliary autopilot solution of zebra network. It can combine sensors, cloud computing and high-precision maps to integrate navigation information, road signs, driving parameters, peripheral facilities and other information into the vehicle dashboard and windshield, and feedback the information to the driver in real-time AR. The Roewe Light Wing MARVEL X is the first car in the world to be equipped with this system.

In recent years, SAIC is gradually speeding up the layout of intelligent network connection. In July 2016, SAIC and Alibaba launched the world's first Internet car, the Roewe RX5, which is equipped with Alibaba's intelligent operating system YUNOS and equipped with one-button start, constant speed cruise, lane maintenance and other functions according to different models.

A year later, Zebra Zhihang system launched the largest OTA upgrade of cars in the world, gradually realizing the carrying of SAIC's own brand Internet models. In the same year, SAIC developed two generations of intelligent driving platform and 5G technology vehicle networking platform, and the self-driving technology reached L4 level.

In addition to Intelligent Network Alliance, SAIC also continues to pay attention to overseas markets, and adjusts its strategy in 2018 to include internationalization in the "new four modernizations".

Based on current sales and orders, Yu Jingmin expects exports of the Mingjue brand to reach 170000 vehicles in 2019, up 143 per cent from a year earlier. In 2018, global sales of Mingjue reached 270000, an increase of 100% over the same period last year, including 200000 in China and 70, 000 in overseas markets, an increase of nearly 50, 000 over 2017.

In April this year, SAIC's overseas vehicle base in India was officially completed and put into production. The new plant is expected to have a capacity of 80,000 vehicles and plans to launch at least four products to the Indian market in the next two years. In addition, three manufacturing bases, four overseas R & D bases and two innovation centers have been set up in Thailand, Indonesia and India.

Yu Jingmin revealed that the current order number of Indian factories has exceeded 28000 vehicles, the next key is to increase production capacity. He also said that SAIC's layout in Brazil, India, South Africa and other emerging markets has been basically completed, and the next step will be to expand to the more mature European and American markets, where the layout will be relatively faster.
