According to data disclosed by the Chinese auto market, Tesla's sales in China are growing rapidly, and his sales in the first half of the year are almost the same as those of NIO, Weimar and Xiaopeng combined. According to the report, Tesla's retail sales in China reached 25207 in the first half of this year, an increase of 138.7% over the same period last year, successfully ranking sixth among TOP 10 manufacturers in the pure electric market from January to June 2019.

It is understood that this is mainly due to the "great progress" of Tesla Model 3 and the hot sales of China's new energy vehicle subsidies before they went downhill. Since the official launch of Model 3, it has been Tesla's sales responsibility.

From January to June this year, Tesla Model 3 sold a total of 19268 pure electric vehicles, accounting for 76 per cent of Tesla's total sales in China, according to pure electric vehicle sales figures released by the Federation of passengers.

In order to promote sales, Tesla has also made price adjustments many times. In the first half of this year alone, Tesla has carried out three price reduction measures.

In 2018, Tesla Model 3 became the best-selling electric car in the world with sales of 155000 vehicles. In the first half of this year, sales of the car reached 128000, exceeding the total of No. 2-4 on the list and accounting for 11% of the global electric vehicle market.

Not only that, this year, China's new energy vehicle subsidy policy officially declined, resulting in the rapid growth of China's new energy vehicle market also began to slow down, market-oriented transformation is full of variables.

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from January to June this year, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles were 614000 and 617000 respectively, an increase of 48.5% and 49.6% respectively over the same period last year.

However, it is worth noting that the subsidy transition period ends on June 25. In July, the production and sales of new energy and vehicles were 84000 and 80, 000, down 6.9% and 4.7% respectively from the same period last year. This is the first negative growth in domestic production and sales of new energy vehicles. The new energy models of the major car companies all showed a sharp decline compared with the same period last year.

Not only the traditional car companies, but also the influence of the new forces on car-building is more severe. In the first half of this year, news of financial difficulties, closures, safety accidents and layoffs continued to come from many new car companies. In addition, the sales performance of the new car companies in the first half of the year is also lower than expected, which is far from its half-year sales target.

Data show that from January to June this year, Xiaopeng and Weimar sold 9596 and 8536 units respectively, while Ulai sold a total of 7542 ES6 and ES8.

In the first half of this year, Xiaopeng, Weimar and NIO respectively ranked in the top three of new car sales, but the three new car head enterprises did not exceed 10,000 in sales in the first half of this year. By contrast, the 25000 sales achieved by Tesla in the first half of the year is almost equivalent to the combined sales of the three new car companies, NIO, Weimar and Xiaopeng. Moreover, such a report card was obtained when domestic Tesla has not yet been put into production and imported Tesla does not enjoy new energy subsidies and purchase tax subsidies.

At the beginning of this month, Tesla officially said that Tesla's Shanghai super factory is expected to start production by the end of 2019. Tesla Shanghai Super Factory has obtained the comprehensive acceptance certificate of the power station.

It is understood that the total investment of Tesla's Shanghai factory project is as high as 50 billion yuan, with an investment of 16 billion yuan in the first phase. In the initial stage, an assembly production line will be built first, so as to realize Tesla's "domestic" as soon as possible. According to the plan, the super factory will integrate R & D, manufacturing, sales and other functions, and is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 500000 pure electric vehicles after 2-3 years of construction.

In May this year, Tesla's official Weibo announced that the domestic Tesla Model 3 was 328000 yuan. Although some industry insiders believe that the price is somewhat lower than expected, judging from the current sales performance of imported Model 3 in China, the sales of domestic Model 3 are quite expected.
