According to Weibo, a rechargeable Dongfeng Fengshen E70 new energy vehicle burned in Xi'an. Many nearby residents were awakened by the explosion accompanied by the burning of the vehicle, and the burning was photographed from the upper level, and the fire lasted until 2 am before it was put out.

According to eyewitness information, the vehicle spontaneously ignited while charging, and the owners of the three cars were not at the scene at that time. Judging from the picture, there were two completely burned cars and one slightly damaged car at the scene, and the connected charging piles were also burned.

In addition, the staff did not give any interviews, refused to take pictures and drove away the people at the scene. Fortunately, there were no casualties at the scene, the accident appraisers have arrived at the scene, and the specific cause of spontaneous combustion has not been disclosed. Preliminary guess, it should be the battery spontaneous combustion caused by fast charging.

It has been confirmed that the spontaneous combustion vehicle is the Dongfeng Fengshen E70, and the van next to it can be inferred to be the Land Ark Weidu X35 according to its shape characteristics, and there are also some burn marks on the outermost left side of BYD. Dongfeng Fengshen E70 is equipped with ternary lithium battery with maximum mileage 401KM and battery energy density of 50.8kWh.

With the safety problem of "spontaneous combustion" of new energy vehicles, it has become a hot topic of social concern at present. So far, we have learned that there have been three incidents of new energy "spontaneous combustion" in August.

On August 13, a suspected Euler R1 caught fire when it was parked in a public DC fast charging station, but it was not possible to determine whether the vehicle was charging at that time.
