Zhidou Automobile was founded in 2006 and has a history of more than 10 years. As the fourth company to obtain pure electric production qualification, the initial state support for new energy vehicles has led to a good development of this company. However, since 2019, Zhidou Motor has fallen into an operational crisis. On January 7, Zhidou Motor was put on file for investigation by Ningbo Intermediate people's Court because "the obligation to pay more than 200 million yuan and related interest was not fulfilled." Bao Wenguang, founder of Zhidou Automobile, was restricted by the people's Court of Ninghai County, Zhejiang Province, on Aug. 21, while the 330 million yuan stake in Zhidou was also frozen.

Many car owners feel that if the operation of Zhidou Motor does not improve, it will affect their own interests. Many car owners reported that after the failure of the vehicle, manufacturers and 4S store dealerships were unable to provide accessories for maintenance, resulting in the normal use of the vehicle.

From the point of view of the quality problems complained by car owners, the power battery failure and charging failure of Zhidou car have become the most concentrated complaints. Some car owners reported that they went to the 4S store to replace the battery due to power battery problems, but the mileage of the new battery was less than 100 kilometers, and the battery alarm appeared after driving less than 50 kilometers.

According to the data, the two major problems mentioned above exist in the whole line of Zhidou automobile products, among which the performance of Zhidou D2 is extremely outstanding, accounting for 59% of all products. With the exception of the 2018 D2, which has fewer complaints, with only 3 per cent, battery and charging failures are extremely significant in other years. There are fewer complaints about the 2018 D2, whether it means that the problem has been resolved is still unknown.

It is understood that the power batteries of Zhidou cars complained by car owners mainly come from Boston brand battery suppliers. The data show that Zhidou automobile uses ternary lithium battery. Compared with lithium iron phosphate battery, ternary lithium battery has more stable performance and higher energy density, and its energy storage density is usually higher than 200Wh/kg. However, from the current performance of Zhidou automobile, it does not reflect this advantage very well.

In addition, the disadvantage of ternary lithium battery is also prominent, because its decomposition temperature is about 250-350℃, in order to ensure the safety and stability of battery, the BMS requirement of ternary lithium battery management system is relatively high, and it is necessary to take protective measures such as overcharge, overdischarge, overtemperature and overcurrent in the design process. Among them, current equalization control, charge management control and overheating management functions play a very important role in the normal use and life of the battery.

From this point of view, Zhidou car battery failure and charging failure, mainly because it is unable to master the core technology, and the core technology is likely to be in the hands of the supplier. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, we also need to coordinate with suppliers.

In fact, what bothers car owners is not only the quality problem, but also the after-sales problem. Manufacturers and 4S stores do not have related accessories, resulting in problems can not be solved.

According to the data, there are most complaints about no replacement of parts in the service problems, with 52 complaints, which are mainly from 2018 to now. Industry insiders Bai Shi, Zhidou automobile company is not efficient, or default on suppliers, resulting in battery suppliers can not normally provide parts to Zhidou automobile.

Data show that sales of Zhi beans have been declining in 2018, with cumulative sales of only about 15000 vehicles for the whole year, down 63.9 per cent from a year earlier. It is worth mentioning that since 2018, the relevant Zhidou electric vehicles have been exposed continuously, such as unpaid wages, layoffs, closures and so on.
