The Guangdong Institute of Product quality Supervision and Inspection announced for the first time the risk monitoring results of electric vehicle charging piles, which showed that 70% of the samples had safety risks, CCTV's Weekly quality report reported.

The risk monitoring collected a total of 10 batches of electric vehicle charging pile products produced by 9 enterprises, of which 7 batches did not meet the requirements. Risk monitoring shows that four of the samples do not meet the national safety standards, prone to fire, electric shock and other accidents, the most serious can directly lead to death. In addition, the electric vehicle charging pile quality and safety risk grade is determined as "serious risk", the safety risk is larger.

As we all know, the voltage of household electricity is 220V, while the voltage of charging piles is generally higher than 220V, the voltage is very high, general consumers do not have more professional knowledge of electricity consumption, and are not familiar with charging pile products. Accidents are easy to occur when charging with high-voltage equipment.

Cao Qingquan, a senior engineer in the electrical accessories testing room of the Guangdong Institute of quality Inspection and Inspection, said that after these charging piles were turned on, the display of the instrument current could not be adjusted up, indicating that they were not grounded at all and the value was infinite.

After testing, in the case of abnormal insulation, 5 of the 7 batches of samples that do not meet the national standard can not give an alarm or power off, which means that once the insulation protection of the charging pile is abnormal, the user does not know the danger. This is undoubtedly a huge safety hazard.

In the test, it was also found that there was another condition that would trigger a greater possibility of electric shock. The tester said that due to the high voltage of the charging pile, even if the user does not directly touch the contact of the charging gun, there may be a risk of electric shock if the user is too close. In order to prevent this risk, the charging pile needs to set up an electronic lock inside to monitor the charging status of the charging pile.

Although the tested charging piles are locked, these locks are actually useless. If you accidentally touch or get close to each other, there is likely to be electric shock injury or electric burn of the hand. If serious, it can be directly fatal. As the environment of the charging pile is diverse and relatively complex, the risk will be increased if there are no relative safety measures.

For the charging pile installed outside, in addition to preventing water from entering the interior, it is also necessary to prevent rust, because rust will also increase the risk of electric shock.

However, it can be seen that many charging piles rust not only on the outside, but also on the inside. Prosecutors said that the reason for rust shows that the manufacturer did not comply with the requirements and used parts with poor anti-rust properties. In this case, it will increase the risk of consumers being electrocuted, which takes only two or three seconds from electric shock to death.

According to the analysis of the procurators, the reason why there are many safety problems in these charging piles is that the charging piles have not done a good job in regular operation and maintenance.

Most operators use mobile phone APP to provide users with the location information of charging posts, navigation and charging charges. By calling the three APP with the largest downloads and the most comments, we can see that consumers report complaints such as damaged charging piles, unserviceable, unmanned maintenance, and so on.

In the face of complaints, the charging pile operator explained like this: because the engineer sometimes has maintenance, but he comes by the station, the time will be longer. Data show that as of June 2019, the number of new energy vehicles in China has reached 3.44 million, and the total number of charging piles in the country has exceeded 1 million. According to the 13th five-year Plan, there will be 4.5 million decentralized charging piles in China by 2020.
