A few days ago, Honda designed a brand new airbag. It is understood that this is a more complex airbag developed by Honda in cooperation with security system supplier Autoliv. The new airbag is no longer a simple front inflatable airbag, but consists of three parts: a central airbag and two protruding side airbags on both sides. Honda says it protects the head like a baseball player's catch glove and works better.

Because the traditional airbag works by quickly opening the airbag in a car accident and providing a buffer for passengers so that their head does not collide with the dashboard or windshield, however, the protective effect is the most effective only when the passenger hits the airbag head on.

But this is not the case in all crashes. For example, in a tilted frontal collision, when a passenger hits an airbag, the force on the passenger will cause the passenger's head to rotate or even slide completely sideways, which increases the likelihood of serious injury.

The airbag is designed to capture and slow down the impact on the passenger's head. When this happens, it holds up its head like a baseball catcher's baseball glove.

However, Honda said the new airbag is not expected to be launched in the United States until 2020, but did not say which models will be used to launch Honda.

In addition, the Honda recall has never stopped because of the curse of Takata airbags. The month before last, it also announced a recall of seven models, including some of the poets, Feido, Fengfan, Odyssey, Sidi, Accord and concept S1 models produced during the period from November 11, 2002 to June 27, 2015, a total of 94663.
