Some netizens have exposed a set of fake spy-free photos of the domestic Cadillac CT5. The main competitors of the new car in the future will be the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The size of the CT5 is slightly larger than the two competitors, and the car will debut at the 2019 Chengdu Auto Show, which opens on Sept. 5.

From the point of view of appearance, the domestic version of Cadillac CT5 adopts the family design style, and the interior of the flat shield-shaped grille is suspected to be painted in all black. In addition, the LED daily running lights of the new car adopt a vertical structure with upper and lower segments, with a chrome trim and a U-shaped front surrounding the air intake.

From the side of the body, the straight waistline of the new car goes all the way from the end of the outer corner of the headlight through the lower part of the side window to the front edge of the taillight. In the rear part, the CT5 broken-line LED taillights are embedded with two LED light belts with different trends, and the short-shaped spare car is equipped with spoiler and two-sided chrome-plated exhaust.

It is understood that in terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4924 hip 1883 mm 1453 (1445) and the wheelbase is 2947mm. Compared with rivals Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series, the body size of domestic Cadillac CT5 is not at a disadvantage.

From the spy photos, we can also see that the interior of the domestic Cadillac CT5 continues the overseas design, equipped with a 10-inch suspended central control screen with a screen resolution of 1080p.

On the powertrain, the domestic Cadillac CT5 will be equipped with a 2.0T engine codenamed "LSY", maximum power for 241Ps, maximum torque 350Nm, and variable cylinder technology, which can switch three driving modes: "four-cylinder performance mode", "four-cylinder economic mode" and "two-cylinder energy-saving mode". It matches the rare 10AT gearbox of the same class, which has more advantages in ride comfort and fuel economy.

The new Cadillac CT5, as a replacement for the CTS, continues the latest family design and will be unveiled at the Chengdu Auto Show, which opens in September, and is believed to be on sale soon. But if Cadillac, the number one second-tier luxury brand, wants to challenge Mercedes-Benz C and BMW 3, it may have to make some price strategies, otherwise sales of the BMW 3 Series may still be poor during the bottleneck period.

According to the data, Cadillac sales in China rose 2.8 per cent in July from a year earlier to 14700 vehicles, with cumulative sales of 129300 vehicles from January to July, up 2.1 per cent from a year earlier, firmly at the top of the list of second-tier luxury cars.
