Volkswagen cheated again, and this time spread to India! Volkswagen has been sued after it was revealed that Volkswagen sold Volkswagen cars equipped with "emission cheating devices" to the Indian market, foreign media reported. India's National Green Court (NGT) imposed a fine of 5 billion rupees ($71 million, 480 million yuan) on Germany's Volkswagen.

India believes that Volkswagen's move has seriously damaged the environment because of excessive nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from Volkswagen diesel vehicles that pollute India's air.

In the course of hearing the case in India's Green Court, it was also suggested that India should ban the sale of Volkswagen cars.

The Volkswagen emissions cheating scandal was revealed in 2015, when Volkswagen admitted to controlling the software of some diesel engines to run only during regulatory tests and shut down during normal driving. Three and a half years have passed and Volkswagen has lost more than $30 billion, and the Volkswagen exhaust valve incident is far from over.

Volkswagen said it spent 5.5 billion euros (43 billion yuan) on the diesel cheating scandal in 2018, and the scandal will continue to eat up 2 billion euros in profits in 2019.
