On September 3rd, Faraday Future (FF) officially announced the appointment of Bi Fukang as global CEO to succeed Jia Yueting.

Meanwhile, Jia Yueting, founder of FF, will resign from his former CEO position to become CPUO (chief product and user officer). In this regard, people related to FF said that Bi Fukang's experience in the field of automobiles and electric vehicles, plus Jia Yueting in the Internet, consumer electronics, A.I. During this year's Shanghai auto show, Bi Fukang announced his departure from the carmaker Baiteng to become CEO of the ICONIQ brand. At the beginning of Baiteng, Bi Fukang served as chief executive and co-founder. Prior to Baiteng, Bi Fukang worked at BMW for 20 years and led the BMW electric sports car i8 project, which was known as the "father of i8" in the industry.

According to the official information released by FF, after taking up the global CEO position at FF, Bi Fukang will comprehensively lead the company's core team to achieve strategic goals, continue to build industry-leading technologies and products, and focus on promoting ongoing financing activities.

The CPUO position held by Jia Yueting is a newly created position, which is mainly responsible for the overall implementation of the Internet ecosystem strategy, leader industrial intelligence, product definition, user acquisition, user experience and user operation. In short, Bi Fukang is responsible for the advantageous business of traditional cars, such as automobile R & D and manufacturing, while Jia Yueting is responsible for the business related to the advantages of the Internet.

For the position, Jia Yueting said: "I believe that after Dr. Bi Fukang becomes CEO, we will work with the management team to successfully realize our initial vision of a shared intelligent travel ecology."

In the outside world, Jia Yueting's resignation from CEO will help him to set up a debt repayment trust fund to achieve priority, as soon as possible, and thoroughly resolve his remaining secured debt problem. According to previous information released by FF, Jia Yueting has repaid more than 3 billion US dollars in debt through asset disposal and other ways since Letv's financial crisis broke out in November 2016.

In Jia Yueting's view: "the reason why I give up everything is to make FF, repay the remaining secured debt as soon as possible, and realize the dream of changing the auto industry."
