According to foreign media reports, French automaker PSA has confirmed that Arnaud Deboeuf has resigned as a senior executive in the Renault-Nissan alliance and hired him as PSA industry strategy director, directly following the orders of CEO Tang Weishi.

It is understood that Deboeuf is a close ally of Ghosn, the former leader of the Renault-Nissan alliance, and once served as senior vice president of the alliance. Deboeuf has been working for Renault since 1993.

Renault CEO Bolore and chairman Shennard tried to maintain the alliance between Renault and Nissan and planned to merge Renault and FCA, but failed, adding to tensions between the two companies.

According to sources, Deboeuf is well received by Nissan. After Ghosn's dismissal, Deboeuf became the highest-ranking manager in the Renault-Nissan alliance, and his relationship with Bolore began to deteriorate.

Deboeuf wrote in a farewell email to colleagues: "Bolore told me that no one wanted to work with me, which is why I had to leave Renault and that I could no longer work for Nissan. Without the time we spent together and the supportive words you said to me, what Mr. Bolore said might have hurt me. " Deboeuf also said it "will continue to work in the automotive industry" but is working for Renault's French rival PSA.

Renault declined to comment on Deboeuf's departure. Deboeuf himself did not respond to a request for comment.

Analysts say the days of non-interference between PSA and Renault are gone. Since Tang moved to PSA in 2013, Renault has been losing talent, including Yann Vincent, executive vice president of manufacturing at PSA, and Alain Raposo, director of powertrain engineering.

According to several sources, Deboeuf's departure is not surprising. Bollore closed several Renault-Nissan alliance departments a few months ago, including the "CEO office" that Deboeuf is in charge of.
