According to the announcement issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, a few days ago, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Fujian Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products, put on record the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and decided to carry out the following recalls:

(1) Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 804 imported S-Class, C-Class and E-Class models produced between February 5, 2019 and April 18, 2019.

(2) Fujian Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 201 domestic V-Class and Weiting models produced from June 24, 2019 to July 8, 2019.

Reasons for recall:

(1) the software of the radar sensor control unit in the active brake auxiliary system does not meet the requirements of the vehicles within the scope of the recall of Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. due to incorrect supplier codes. Although the distance warning sound and warning lights still work, the autonomous braking function may not start as expected, which will increase the risk of vehicle collision and there are safety risks.

(2) for some vehicles within the scope of the recall of Fujian Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd., the rear axle front bundle nut was not locked to the specified torque during the assembly process. In extreme cases, the front beam bolts of the rear axle may become loose and come off, resulting in the driver can not control the vehicle normally, and there is a safety hidden danger.

Solution:

(a) Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will upgrade the software of the radar sensor control unit for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

(2) Fujian Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will inspect the vehicles within the recall area free of charge, replace the bolts and nuts for the vehicles whose rear axle front bundle nuts are not locked to the prescribed torque and pay according to the prescribed torque, so as to eliminate the hidden danger of safety.
