In fact, this is a pure electric concept car modified from the classic Beetle of the last century, using the e-up electric drive system to resurrect the Beetle and become a brand-new e-Beetle. With the launch of this concept car, Volkswagen partnered with eClassics mainly to enable the electric drive system developed by Volkswagen to extend its' life'of more classic cars and to use electrified programs to "revive" more vintage cars like this Beetle.

According to officials, e-Beetle 's power system comes from Volkswagen's new e-up, the maximum power of the motor 60kW, the power battery is composed of 14 modules, each module has a capacity of 2.6kWh, and the total capacity of the power battery is 36.4kWh, which is placed at the bottom of the car to provide the vehicle with 200km mileage, and the 150km mileage can be obtained by charging for one hour.

The weight of the e-Beetle is 1280kg. Under the condition of full acceleration, the acceleration time of 0-50km/h is 4s, the acceleration time of 80km/h is 8s, and the top speed is 150km/h.

In terms of performance, it is better than the Beatles' first world-changing, air-cooled, low-output engine. It is understood that the acceleration time of 0-50km/h takes about 4 seconds, and the maximum speed is 150km/h.

Volkswagen said it was working with eClassics to provide electrified options for other long-established Volkswagen models such as the Porsche 356 and Volkswagen Bus, and planned to use the MEB electric modular platform to provide additional performance and cruising mileage. For the modification of e-Beetle, Volkswagen Group provides production components from up to eClassics. Because the components are modular, the car can be customized to specific needs.
