AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/09 Report--

In terms of a single brand, Audi is the top luxury car seller in China in 2018, reaching 660000 vehicles. Audi's sales in China continued to grow amid a decline in car sales in China while luxury cars bucked the trend.

According to Audi's February sales, Audi's global sales declined, only the Chinese market was growing, and the rest of the market fell across the board. Fortunately, the Chinese market is struggling to support it, otherwise Audi's data would be even uglier.

Audi ranked 119800 in global sales in February, down 8.5 per cent from the same period. In the first two months of this year, Audi sold 264500 vehicles worldwide, down 5.5 per cent from a year earlier.

From a regional perspective, only the Chinese market has achieved data growth. Audi sold 40, 000 vehicles in China in February, up 1.8 per cent from a year earlier; in the first two months of this year, Audi delivered 104084 vehicles in the Chinese market, up 3.8 per cent from a year earlier, an all-time high and accounting for nearly 40 per cent of Audi's global sales.

Audi's cumulative sales in China reached 660000 in 2018, up 11% from the same period last year, making it the single-brand leader in the luxury car market. Audi continues to maintain its growth momentum in China this year.

Audi, by contrast, underperforms China in global and other markets.

In the US, Audi sold 13560 vehicles in February, down 12.2 per cent from a year earlier, about 54800 in Europe, down 12.8 per cent from a year earlier, 23237 in Germany, down 10.5 per cent and 5219 in the UK, down 14.5 per cent.

In the first two months of cumulative sales, Audi's global market and other regions have declined, only the Chinese market still has a small growth, it is conceivable that China is important to the Audi brand.

In terms of new cars, Audi has announced a strong product offensive for the Chinese market, introducing 13 new cars to compete with Mercedes-Benz and BMW. In 2019, Audi will launch 13 models in the Chinese market, including the new A6L, which has been replaced by China, as well as a new generation of Q3, Q8, A7, Audi e-tron electric cars and so on.
