AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/09 Report--

Recently, Tesla CEO Musk was asked by netizens on Twitter if he could see "Pick Up Truck" at the end of October. Musk said it was "probably in November", but no other information was revealed. Earlier, it was revealed that Tesla's "Pick Up Trunk" has the carrying capacity to compete with Ford's F150 and the performance of the basic Porsche 911 model.

For Tesla, who currently has only cars and SUV, pickup is a new field. In 2018, Model 3 has defeated Lexus RX, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and other rivals to become the annual champion of the US luxury car market. And for whether to enter the pickup market to get satisfactory results is the problem that Tesla needs to face.

In the pickup market, Tesla's biggest rival in the United States is Ford. At present, the highest-selling pickup truck in the US market is Ford's Fmur150. Ford is also working on an electric version of Fmuri 150, and has shown the electric version of Fmai 150 in the second quarter of this year.

Musk did not give many details about the upcoming pickup, but said that the size of the pickup is not much different from that of the Ford Fmur150 and that it may sell for less than $50,000. According to Ford's official website, the prices of the seven models currently on sale range from $28000 to $67000, three of which are under $50, 000.

For Tesla, the top priority is to expand production of Model 3, and its super factory in Shanghai is expected to start production by the end of this year or early next year. In addition, in Germany, Tesla is also looking for a site to build a factory, mainly producing Model 3.

Compared with the car and SUV market, the electrification trend of the pickup market is relatively late. At present, General Motors, Ford and other car companies have put the launch of electric pickups on the agenda, and it is still a huge unknown whether Tesla's soon-to-be-launched pickup can continue to develop in the pickup market.
