The new LOGO of the Volkswagen brand uses a flat design and simplifies processing. It is also a symbol of Volkswagen's accelerated layout electrification, and aims to improve flexibility and facilitate various digital applications. At the press conference, the ID.3, the first ID series pure electric vehicle using the new brand LOGO, was also officially launched.
In the appearance part, the Volkswagen ID.3 adopts the round design language of the ID family, and the front face adopts the front penetrating type LED light group, fully enclosed middle net and low wind resistance hub (wind resistance coefficient is 0.26), which ensures energy consumption and mileage; while the rear of Volkswagen ID.3 uses a bright black taildoor and b-shaped LED taillight group. It is worth noting that the front and rear LOGO can be lit.
In addition, Volkswagen ID.3 interior decoration style is very simple, using the popular full LCD instrument + central control screen design style, the central control screen size is 10 inches, the full LCD instrument size is slightly smaller. The electronic lever is located on the right side of the dashboard, and the central control screen integrates navigation, multimedia, vehicle control and other functions.
In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 204hp motor with a peak torque of 310Nm and a maximum speed electronic speed limit at 160km/h. At the same time, it also has three kinds of battery capacity: 45kWh, 58kWh and 77kWh, corresponding to 330km, 420km and 550km (NEDC or super-600km). 100kW fast charging is supported, and it is said that car owners can be charged with enough electricity to meet the mileage of 290km in 30 minutes.
ID.3 is based on Volkswagen pure electric MEB platform, the whole vehicle is positioned as a pure electric 5-door compact car, its length, width and height are 4261/1809/1552mm, wheelbase is 2765mm, and the weight varies according to the size of the battery pack.
In May, Volkswagen opened a reservation for the ID.3, booking more than 10, 000 vehicles in just 24 hours. Orders will take effect in April 2020, and until then, consumers who change their minds will get a full refund.
In addition, Volkswagen CEO Dis said that nearly 70 new electric vehicles are expected to be launched by 2028, and the cumulative production of electric vehicles based on its platform will reach 22 million, covering all brands and platform architectures of the group.
In the 2025 strategy released by Volkswagen Group, it is clear that 1.5 million new energy models are produced and sold annually in China, of which 500000 are MEB models, and MEB products will be produced at the same time in Foshan and Shanghai Anting. Volkswagen also expects the annual production and sales of new energy in China to reach 50-6 million units in the next five years, of which Volkswagen will win 1.5 million units. Volkswagen says China is the most optimistic new energy market in the world.
The Volkswagen LOGO has been updated 11 times. Before 1967, the Volkswagen LOGO adopted a black design, and for the next 32 years it was all flattened, more just a color adjustment, and then incorporated into 3D stereoscopic effects, which is still in use today. Now flattening has become the trend of the times. What do you think of Volkswagen's simplification of LOGO this time?
