According to Daimler's official sales figures, the Mercedes-Benz brand delivered 177819 cars in August, the second consecutive month of double-digit growth (14%) and another new record, according to domestic media reports. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz brand sold 1501405 cars worldwide from January to August this year, down 0.7% from the same period last year.

In the Asia-Pacific region, Mercedes-Benz set a record for the same period in history with sales of 82310 vehicles (up 13.8 per cent year-on-year). In the Chinese market, Mercedes-Benz delivered 60134 cars to customers last month, up 12.8 per cent from a year earlier. In Europe, Mercedes-Benz delivered 62213 cars in August, up 13.1% from a year earlier and setting a new monthly sales record in the region. In North America, Mercedes-Benz sold 24771 cars in the United States in August, a year-on-year increase of 21.8 percent

In terms of its specific models, the changes in Mercedes-Benz compact models had a significant impact on its August sales. Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class, CLA, CLA Shooting Brake and GLA delivered about 48900 vehicles last month, a year-on-year increase of 28.6%, a record high for the same period. In the first eight months of this year, Mercedes-Benz sold about 417000 compact cars worldwide, up 9.5% from a year earlier, also setting a new record for the same period in history.

In terms of SUV models, Mercedes-Benz SUV sales increased for the first time this year due to the positive impact of model changes: about 61800 vehicles were delivered last month, up 8.7% from the same period last year, with both the upgraded GLC and the new GLE8 hitting record highs. Sales of the new G-Class achieved strong double-digit growth last month, and cumulative sales in the first eight months of this year exceeded the record level for the whole of 2017.
