AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/16 Report--
According to overseas media reports, Marcus Duzman, BMW's global head of procurement and suppliers, will become chief executive of Audi, a luxury brand owned by Volkswagen.
It is reported that Dussman has submitted his resignation to the chairman of BMW and will not be able to renew his contract with the group for personal reasons. According to a person close to BMW, Dussman will officially take over as CEO of Audi from April 1 next year, and BMW's board of directors has also begun to discuss structural changes after Dusman leaves office.
According to public sources, Duzman, a 50-year-old engineer, joined the BMW Group in 2007 and worked for the former BMW Sauber F1 team. He was responsible for the research and development of BMW powertrain from 2010 to 2016 as head of driving dynamics and powertrain. Since October 1, 2016, he has been a director of the BMW Group, responsible for procurement and supplier network.
Duzman's joining Audi means he is the second BMW executive to join Volkswagen after Deiss. In April last year, Volkswagen Group appointed Volkswagen brand CEO Disi to replace Matthias Muller as Volkswagen's new CEO.
Audi is the third largest luxury brand in the world. In recent years, it has been lagging behind competitors BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Audi delivered a total of 906200 vehicles worldwide in the first half of this year, down 4.5 per cent from a year earlier. The cumulative income in the first half of the year was 28.761 billion euros (about 220.461 billion yuan), down 7.69% from the same period last year, and the operating profit was 2.3 billion euros (about 17.631 billion yuan), down 17.9% from the same period last year.
In fact, it is the emission scandal in Audi's engine research and development department that has even caused a lot of trouble to the public at one time, and the group is trying to overcome the negative feedback from this incident.
Rupert Stadler, Audi's current chief executive and Volkswagen board member, was forced to resign temporarily after being detained in June as part of an ongoing investigation into the diesel emissions cheating scandal.
During Steed's detention, Volkswagen is looking for a suitable successor to supplement its senior leadership. In July this year, Volkswagen revealed that once Dussman's new conditions are ripe, he will immediately take the helm of the Audi brand.
Obviously, Audi brand for Volkswagen Group, reform is a top priority, there can not be any heresy. And this brand is also one of the most important sources of income.
