At about 22: 21 on September 14, at the intersection of Bulong Road and Meilong Avenue in Longhua District, Shenzhen City, an electric taxi overturned after hitting the safety island, injuring four people, including the driver.
According to a video posted on the Internet, an electric taxi came fast behind the road and was about to turn right ahead, but the taxi was too fast, the road was slippery on a rainy day, and the taxi failed to brake, so it rushed straight to the safety island and hit the signal lamppost. It didn't stop until it overturned. After the rollover, the blue taxi got stuck between the traffic light poles and the green flowers. Then traffic police, firefighters, 120 ambulances rushed to the scene, the scene set up a cordon, firefighters rescued the trapped people in the taxi.
On the morning of the 15th, the Shenzhen traffic police also issued a circular on this matter. According to the preliminary understanding from the hospital, all the injured were not life-threatening, and one of the injured left the hospital because of a bruised calf. At present, the accident is under further investigation and handling.
On September 13, at the intersection of Longhua Dalang South Road and Longlan Avenue, a taxi hit an old man passing by.
On September 9, at the intersection of Baishi Road and Shenwan Road in Nanshan, a woman cycling was knocked down by a taxi and died on the spot.
On September 8, on Longgang Buji Changji Road, a taxi ran out of control and knocked down two passers-by.
On August 30, at the Hongling intersection in Luohu, one was killed and two were injured in a taxi accident. Shenzhen traffic police released surveillance showing that the driver had dozed off before the accident.
According to the statistics of the traffic police department, as of September 10 this year, there were 12 electric taxi accidents in the city, resulting in 12 deaths. In addition, five taxi accidents have occurred in Shenzhen in the half a month since August 30, resulting in a total of two deaths and nine injuries.
In this regard, in order to deepen the work of building a civilized city and effectively prevent traffic violations and accidents on buses and taxis, the Shenzhen traffic police will strengthen the traffic safety regulation of the taxi industry.
