The German Transport Ministry said that if Audi fails to remove the cheating software on diesel vehicles equipped with V6 and V8 TDI engines by Sept. 26 and obtain approval of EU6 emission standards, otherwise each car that still has cheating software will face a penalty of 25000 euros.

In addition to facing huge fines, the German Transport Ministry informed Audi that it had cancelled approval for illegal diesel models that had not been modified before the deadline.

Audi said it was a plan that needed to be completed by the September 26 deadline.

It is reported that 12400 cars will be affected by the deadline. Audi said it provided additional software solutions for the remaining 4200 cars.

Volkswagen, which is still affected by diesel doors, admitted in September 2015 that it used illegal cheating software to deceive the testing of diesel generators in the United States, triggering the biggest crisis in the company's history.

According to statistics, so far, Volkswagen has lost about 30 billion euros due to the "diesel throttle" scandal. Volkswagen said it was impossible to expect such huge consequences from these disclosures.

In May last year, Audi stopped delivering Audi A6 and Audi A7 models with specific engines when it discovered the existence of unknown emission software. At present, the German Motor vehicle Administration has recalled 60,000 Audi A6L and A7 vehicles worldwide because of illegal emission software installed on vehicle engines.

It is exposed that Audi may not delete the emission cheating software in time.

In June, German prosecutors said they had expanded the investigation into Audi's emissions cheating and included Audi CEO Steiner as one of the suspects accused of fraud and false advertising. in addition, the market manipulation of Volkswagen CEO Deiss, chairman Hans Dieter Potts and Winterkorn was investigated. These executives were accused of being too late to inform the market of the diesel incident and its impact.

Steed, Audi's former chief executive, was subsequently arrested by Munich prosecutors for trying to conceal evidence related to the diesel emissions investigation.
