AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/17 Report--

According to German media reports, Marcus Markus Duesmann, the executive in charge of engine and procurement in BMW Group, may officially become the CEO of Audi, a high-end brand of Volkswagen Group, in April 2020. It is also the second senior executive to jump from BMW since 2015, when Deiss moved from director of research and development to CEO of Volkswagen. Audi and BMW have reached a private agreement to shorten Marcus Dussman's "competition clause" cycle. For Bram short, who was promoted to CEO in January this year, "Volkswagen will arrange a suitable sales position for him within the group." Mr Dussman's move may have something to do with the promotion of Herbert Diess, the former BMW development director and now head of Volkswagen.

Audi China is also changing coaches frequently. On October 1 last year, Ouyang Qian officially became president of Audi China; on July 1 this year, Wu Jiabi succeeded Ouyang Qian as president of Audi China. Some industry experts said bluntly, "in a short period of 9 months, Audi China suddenly changed coach, which will inevitably damage the Audi brand itself."

Ouyang Qian, 51, previously served as vice president of sales and marketing of Volkswagen Brazil and chief executive vice president of Volkswagen brand South America.

It is reported that in June 2018, the then Audi CEO Steed was arrested by German police on suspicion of trying to conceal evidence related to the diesel emissions investigation. Short was appointed as Audi CEO in November 2018 on suspicion of trying to conceal evidence related to the diesel emission investigation. According to the agreement, short's term will end in 2021.

In fact, the sudden revelation of Dussman's appointment to Audi is not without warning.

On July 24, 2018, Dusman, then BMW's purchasing director, abruptly resigned for "personal reasons". At about the same time, Audi's parent company, Volkswagen Group, announced that it hoped Dussman would take up Audi's new CEO position as soon as possible. However, because German executives have company competitor clauses in their work contracts, they are required not to be employed by the company's competitors within six months after leaving. So Audi chose short, then Audi's global head of sales and marketing, as its brand CEO.

Today, Dussman is no longer bound by BMW's contract and has squeezed short out of his CEO position.

It is reported that the nearly 50-year-old Dussman worked at Mercedes-Benz from 1992 to 1995 as a V12 series engine design engineer. In 2003, Dusman took over as head of diesel engine development at DaimlerChrysler in Stuttgart. By 2007, he was transferred to BMW Sauber F1 team as head of development. Since October 2016, Dusman has succeeded Drag in charge of BMW Group procurement and supplier network.
