Audi and BMW have reached a private agreement to shorten Marcus Dussman's "competition clause" cycle. It is reported that the nearly 50-year-old Dussman worked at Mercedes-Benz from 1992 to 1995 as a V12 series engine design engineer. In 2003, Dusman took over as head of diesel engine development at DaimlerChrysler in Stuttgart. By 2007, he was transferred to BMW Sauber F1 team as head of development. Since October 2016, Dusman has succeeded Drag in charge of BMW Group procurement and supplier network.
