According to foreign media reports, Germany's Volkswagen said on September 16 that thousands of Australian car owners filed a lawsuit against it over diesel door emissions, and the two sides finally reached a settlement. Volkswagen Group said it would pay about A $1400 in compensation to the owners of Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda EA189 diesel vehicles who filed the lawsuit. In the settlement agreement between the two sides, Volkswagen did not admit fault, and as part of the settlement of the lawsuit, Volkswagen will pay litigation fees to plaintiffs who have applied for class action several times.

In response, Maurice Blackburn lead lawyer Julian Schimmel said: tens of thousands of Australian car owners suffered financial losses as a result of Volkswagen emissions gate incident, and finally reached a settlement with Volkswagen, which is an important step in providing them with measures to measure disputes and remedies. The solution has now been submitted to the court for approval.

It is understood that Germany's Volkswagen exposed a fraud scandal in diesel exhaust testing in September 2015, affecting 11 million vehicles worldwide. Among them, nearly 100000 vehicles emit fake emissions in Australia.

In 2016, Australian consumer regulators filed a lawsuit against Volkswagen, saying it deliberately sold more than 57000 diesel vehicles with cheating software to Australian consumers, concealing the actual emission levels from consumers. Volkswagen said it would resolve the complaint in the short term.

Volkswagen has lost 30 billion euros to solve this problem nationwide. Volkswagen said that it is impossible to expect such huge consequences from these disclosures. In addition, Volkswagen has agreed to pay more than $25 billion in compensation to U. S. consumers, environmental agencies, state governments and dealers, and will buy back 500000 diesel vehicles that have polluted the United States.

Mr Deiss, VW's chief executive, has said it wants Volkswagen to regain confidence and build a positive image from the public as it tries to recover from the emissions scandal, but cautious investors have demanded external censorship.
