AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/18 Report--

Under the global electrification tide, the development of electrification is the trend of the times. In the face of many car companies have joined the strategic layout of electric vehicles, with the blue sky power system of Chuangchi, Mazda, which defends the dignity of self-priming engine, has also begun to launch electrification planning. A few days ago, Mazda announced that it will launch a newly developed electric car at next month's Tokyo Motor Show, which will go on sale next year. It is reported that the model is located in a pure electric small SUV, based on CX-30, or named e-TPV.

Mazda spokesman Yoshikazu Nagai also confirmed this, and said that the car is a new design, not in addition to the modification of existing models, but did not give further details.

From the exposed pictures of the new car, the new car basically continues the design language of Mazda CX-30, and unlike the fuel version, the rear wing of the new car uses a charging port to show the identity of the pure electric model. The new car is tested with the shell of the Mazda CX-30, and it can be clearly seen that the side of the body is marked with the word "e-TPV", which is expected to be the model code or name.

On the power side, according to information revealed by Mazda officials a few days ago, the Mazda e-TPV will be equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 104kW (143hp) and a battery pack of 35.5kWh to power the motor.

Mazda CEO has revealed that although Mazda is working with Toyota to develop electric vehicles, the electric vehicles launched by Mazda in 2020 will use its own architecture (a Mazda architecture). It means that the engineering design of the vehicle is done internally by Mazda and has nothing to do with its participation in the electric vehicle alliance led by Toyota.

It is understood that Mazda and Toyota announced in 2017 that they would buy 50 billion yen ($455 million) worth of shares in each other, cross-shareholdings and strengthen cooperation in the development of new energy production models. The two sides jointly developed basic technologies and control systems and jointly invested 1.6 billion US dollars in the construction of new factories in the United States.

However, although Mazda is proud of its internal combustion engine technology, it has to adapt to the trend. This model will also be Mazda's first electric model.

According to the company's plan, more new energy models will be launched in the future to meet tightened carbon dioxide emission standards in Europe and California. The company says most of its cars will be driven by electric or hybrid motors by 2030 or 2035.
