Beijing Mercedes-Benz will usher in a heavy domestic model-GLB, which is positioned as a compact SUV. In the earlier declaration information, GLB will be equipped with the same 1.3T high-power engine as Mercedes-Benz Class A, and the industry estimates that there will also be 2.0T models. Unfortunately, Beijing Mercedes-Benz finally confirmed that it was equipped with a lower-power engine, 1.3T low-power version, named GLB 180.

It is reported that the domestic Mercedes-Benz GLB is built based on the MFA2 horizontal module architecture and will be officially off-line in Beijing Shunyi factory in the near future, and is expected to be listed at the end of the year.

A few days ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the declaration information of Beijing Mercedes-Benz GLB 180. The new model is basically consistent with the previously exposed GLB 200 in appearance, but adopts a low-power version of 1.3T inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum horsepower of 136 hp (100 kW).

The home-made Mercedes-Benz GLB is more like an ordinary compact SUV for home use, while the Mercedes-Benz logo gives it a bit of luxury. The new car's compartment design is as straight as possible, bringing considerable interior space, so it also has a 5/7-seat model option. The lowest equipped GLB 180 model looks more plain, with the front LED headlights and LED taillights removed.

From the side of the car body, the overall shape of the new car is closer to that of the previous concept car, with simple and capable lines. In the window line modeling, the rear door part uses an upward design, looks less monotonous. In terms of tail, its overall line is straight and concise. The taillight design is slightly similar to Mercedes-Benz GLC, while the interior also adopts Mercedes-Benz's new style of circular LED light strip.

In terms of body size, its length, width and height are 4638/1834/1687mm respectively (including luggage rack 1700mm), wheelbase is 2829mm, and it is positioned as compact SUV. The car is available in 235/55 R18 and 235/50 R19 tire sizes for consumers to choose from.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a low-power version of the 1.3T four-cylinder engine, among which the GLB 180 is equipped with a 136 hp (100 kW) low-power version of the 1.3T four-cylinder engine, while the GLB 200 is equipped with a 163 hp (120 kW) high-power version of the 1.3T four-cylinder engine, which has the same power as the domestic Mercedes-Benz A-class sedan, so it can be expected to match the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

As a reference, the price range of domestic Mercedes-Benz GLA is 2648 - 385,800 yuan, the price range of GLC is 3908 - 587,800 yuan, and the starting price of domestic GLB is likely to be about 300,000 yuan.
