Last month, the Shanghai Tesla Super Factory received its first full acceptance certificate, setting a new time record for the local government. This time Tesla got the second official permit before mass production. This also means that the special envoy pull in the domestic mass production soon.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk) has been instructing the company to start production at its Shanghai plant in the early fourth quarter of 2019. At the same time, in the past few months, we have seen several photos leaked from inside the factory, showing Tesla busy setting up a production line before Model 3 goes into production, which means it will go into production around October.

Not long ago, Musk mentioned that the Shanghai super factory would produce "cars, batteries and drives" in the same place. This is completely different from Tesla's current strategy in the United States. The company's strategy in the United States is to assemble cars at its Fremont plant and to produce batteries and drives at a super plant in Nevada.

At first, Musk wanted to produce batteries in a super factory in Shanghai, but in order to avoid import duties, they had to put the project on the back burner and speed up preparations for the car production line.

According to the plan, the company hopes to produce 3000 Model 3s a week at the No. 3 super factory in Shanghai by the end of this year. Tesla has also said that as the Shanghai superfactory begins mass production of the Model 3, it still aims to produce more than 500000 electric vehicles in the 12 months to June 30, 2020.

For Truss, building a factory in China is of great strategic significance. As the largest automobile market, China accounted for more than 1.6 million sales in 2018 when the cumulative global sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 4 million, ranking first.

Building factories in China is also to further dominate the Chinese market. Data show that China continued to be Tesla's second largest market in the first half of this year, with car sales in China totaling US $1.469 billion, an increase of 41.8 per cent over the same period last year. Of these, Tesla model 3 accounted for 76 per cent of Tesla's total sales in China in the first half of the year. This is still the case where there are no domestic models.

With the smooth progress of the special envoy pull super factory, time is running out for many new car builders. In the first half of this year, Xiaopeng, Weimar and NIO respectively ranked in the top three of new car sales, but the three new car head enterprises did not exceed 10,000 in sales in the first half of this year. By contrast, the 25000 sales achieved by Tesla in the first half of the year is almost equivalent to the combined sales of the three new car companies, NIO, Weimar and Xiaopeng.

After Tesla is made in China, without tariffs and transportation costs, as well as relatively lower domestic labor costs, the price advantage of Tesla's products will be more obvious. As for the new forces of car-building, and even other domestic models, the domestic Tesla will seize more market share. After all, many new forces of car-building now have a steady stream of negative news, and they may have perished without foreign invasion.
