A few days ago, FAW-Toyota's first Carola dual-engine E+ (plug-in hybrid version) was officially put off the line at the Tianjin Teda factory, which is also Toyota's first new energy vehicle in China. The car is exclusive to the Chinese market, the biggest feature is that it can enter the new energy vehicle subsidy catalogue, hang the new energy vehicle license plate, and enjoy the new energy subsidy policy.

The Carola dual-engine E+ model, which is dedicated to the Chinese market, can be seen as an upgraded version of the current Carola dual-engine model, with a pure electric mileage of 55km and 1.3L/100km fuel consumption, which will be put on sale in March.

Earlier, FAW Toyota dealers have exposed the pre-sale price of Carola dual-engine E+ manufacturers, of which the official price of volume-sold models is 221000 yuan and the subsidized price is 194600 yuan. I have to say, this price is really not very competitive in the market, and now the Accord hybrid low-configuration price is less than 200000 yuan, but consumers who buy PHEV models are more for license plates.

In terms of appearance, compared with the existing Carola dual-engine models, the new car is mainly adjusted for appearance details. In terms of details, the new cars are embellished with blue elements on the front grid to better highlight the identity of the car. The "PLUG-IN HYBRID" sign is posted on the side of the body and at the right rear of the rear.

In terms of interior decoration, the new car basically maintains the main design style of the ordinary version. The whole system is equipped with 4.2inch TFT color multi-function information display screen, rear seat central armrest (with cup holder), front / rear reading light, suitcase lighting, cab LED atmosphere light, driver seat one-button control (anti-clamping electric window), sunshade with cosmetic mirror, one-button start, automatic air conditioning, air conditioning filter (with PM2.5 filtering function) and other configurations.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of 1.8L naturally aspirated engines, dual motors and battery packs, using Toyota's fourth-generation electric control and larger battery packs. It is understood that the new car will use Panasonic's lithium battery pack, the capacity of about 10kWh, pure electric mileage is expected to reach 55km. The fuel consumption in the comprehensive condition is 1.3L/100km, the fuel consumption in the hybrid mode is 4.3L/100km, the maximum speed can reach 159km/h, and the maximum speed in the pure electric mode is not lower than 120km/h.

Under the pressure of policies such as double credits and license restrictions, manufacturers must deploy new energy vehicles in order to be recognized in the direction of the policy. Carola PHEV is Toyota's first plug-in hybrid car in China, and it can also be said to be a "test of the water" for Toyota in China's PHEV market.
