AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/20 Report--

According to foreign media reports, Tesla Model 3 won the highest score of IIHS TSP+ electric vehicle in the test of American Highway Safety Insurance Association (IIHS). Tesla Model 3 is the first car for Tesla to win the title. Tesla always claims to the outside world that the safety factor of the company's vehicles is very high, but it has never been recognized by any organization, and just recently, Tesla finally received safety approval from the Highway Safety Insurance Association (IIHS). Tesla's Model S has never had such a high IIHS score before, and Model X has never been tested by the non-profit organization.

Tesla Model 3 is the second pure electric vehicle to win the road safety insurance association (IIHS) award.

The last all-electric car to win the award was Audi's E-Tron, and like E-Tron, the Model 3 received a "good" rating in all categories-the best score given by IIHS.

Model 3 only went wrong in two places. IIHS said the pre-June 2018 version had only "acceptable" headlights. In all models, the team said the risk of a driver's left leg injury was moderate in a head-on collision with the driver's side. According to IIHS, this is one of the most challenging tests.

Tesla's automatic emergency braking system also performed well, avoiding collisions in both 12 mph and 25 mph tests, according to IIHS. Specifically, it has achieved good performance in the 25% offset collision test, as well as the side of the body, roof, headrest test and other links. It is important to note that in the most challenging 25% offset collision part of the IIHS test, there is about 20cm intrusion at the door hinge post, thus minimizing the risk of driver calf injury.

In a blog post on the company's website, Tesla expressed pride in the performance of the Model 3 all-glass roof during the IIHS test, and pointed out that the car's seats helped the car get such a high score. "the safety of our customers is the most important, which is why our active safety features and passive safety devices have become the standard for all our cars."
