AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/21 Report--

The Lamborghini supercar brand recently unveiled its first hybrid sports car, the Si á n, at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. Lamborghini's global delivery volume reached 4553 units in the first half of 2019, and is expected to reach 8000 by the end of the year, exceeding the target of 7000 expected at the beginning of the year, according to Federico Foschini, chief commercial officer of Lamborghini.

Lamborghini currently has three product lines: Aventador, Hurac á n and Urus. Among them, SUV Urus is the main sales force, with global delivery of more than 2600 vehicles in the first half of the year. After joining the camp of manufacturing SUV, it is clear that Lamborghini has brought a lot of increment. In 2018, Lamborghini sales rose 51 per cent year-on-year, to 5750 from 3815 in 2017. During the year, Urus sales reached 1761, accounting for 30.6 per cent of total sales, rising to 57 per cent in the first half of this year.

Federico Foschini said that the scale of annual production and sales of about 8000 vehicles is a reasonable level for Lamborghini's existing product line. In addition, in order to maintain the scarcity of products, Lamborghini also intends to control production capacity and will not continue to expand for the time being.

At the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, Lamborghini unveiled its first hybrid supercar, the Si á n. This is the first step towards electric development of Lamborghini, and it is also the first time that Lamborghini has applied hybrid system to mass production models. The new car is driven by a micro-hybrid system consisting of a 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 engine and a 48V motor, with a maximum power of 819hp, which makes it the most powerful Lamborghini ever. In terms of performance, the new car has a 0-100km/h acceleration of only 2.8s, a top speed of 350km/h and a global limit of 63.

Lamborghini, by contrast, is very cautious about pure electric, and there is no product plan for pure electric models for the time being. Federico Foschini explained that it is mainly because of considerations for the sustainability of product performance, not a lack of confidence in the performance brought about by pure electric power systems, and the battery weight of pure electric vehicles does not guarantee continuous optimal performance, especially in terms of weight-to-power ratio.

At present, China's car market has entered the era of stock competition, but in Lamborghini's view, the ultra-luxury sports car market segment does not belong to the stock competition, but is in the growth stage. China has become the second largest market for Lamborghini in the world.

Thanks to the launch of the Urus and the good performance of supercar models, Lamborghini's overall market demand has increased rather than declined. Federico Foschini expects Lamborghini's sales in China to double that of 2018 in 2019. This year is also the first year for Urus to achieve full capacity, and this year's newly launched Hurac á n EVO will also enter the Chinese market next year, and Lamborghini is expected to gain more young supercar consumers.

In order to attract more young consumers to choose Lamborghini and enhance the brand loyalty of older car owners, Federico Foschini said Lamborghini will continue to strive to provide customers with the best quality products, including cutting-edge design, superior performance, more comfort and the latest technology. In addition, Lamborghini attaches great importance to customer experience, both before and after sales, will make greater efforts to bring customers into the brand world created by Lamborghini.
