BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will recall some imported BMW i3 pure electric vehicles made between January 9, 2019 and February 21, 2019, starting from October 25, 2019, according to the information recalled by the State Administration of Market Supervision on September 23. A total of 45 vehicles.

The reason for the recall is that the insufficient galvanization of the circuit board driving the motor control unit may lead to the failure of the motor control unit, resulting in the shutdown of the high-voltage power supply and the loss of driving force in the driving process, increasing the risk of accidents and safety risks.

BMW (China) will replace qualified drive motor control units for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

Earlier, BMW (China) recalled a total of 47 vehicles on May 27 this year because of potential safety problems in the drive motors of i3 pure electric and add-on electric vehicles.

In addition, earlier this month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also announced a recall of the 2019 BMW i3 and i8 electric car models because of concerns that defective high-voltage control modules could cause the vehicle to lose power.

The AMG GT of Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and the CX-5 of Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. need to be recalled in the recall message of the State Administration of Market Supervision on Sept. 23.

A total of 103 imported AMG GT vehicles manufactured during the period from June 9, 2015 to April 21, 2016 will be recalled from November 22, 2019.

For the vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the use of silicon protective paper by the supplier in the production process, there is residue on the bonding surface of the carbon fiber drive shaft and the flange, and the bonding of the carbon fiber drive shaft and the flange does not meet the requirements. In the process of vehicle driving, the carbon fiber drive shaft may lose connection with the flange, which will cause noise or damage to the gearbox. In extreme cases, it will cause the loss of power while the vehicle is driving, increase the risk of vehicle collision, and there are hidden dangers.

Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd.

A total of 77112 domestic second-generation CX-5 cars produced between August 8, 2017 and July 2, 2019 will be recalled from November 22, 2019.

The vehicles within the scope of this recall due to the deformation of the pump wheel inside the fuel pump core and interference with the surrounding parts, resulting in the failure of the fuel pump function, unable to provide normal fuel to the engine. In extreme cases, the engine may flameout while the vehicle is running, and there is a safety hidden danger.
