The vehicles within the scope of this recall due to the deformation of the pump wheel inside the fuel pump core and interference with the surrounding parts, resulting in the failure of the fuel pump function, unable to provide normal fuel to the engine. In extreme cases, the engine may flameout while the vehicle is running, and there is a safety hidden danger. Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the improved fuel pump core for vehicles within the recall area free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

According to a forum on CX-5 in Mazda, a car owner in Wuhan, Hubei province, said that his CX-5 had stalled three times without warning. The owner said that the vehicle was carried by New Year's Day in 2019 and traveled 7000 kilometers to a place in Hunan on August 15. after driving about 30 kilometers up the mountain the next morning, the car suddenly stalled halfway up the hillside. fortunately, there were so many people who helped push the car to the side.
