The car was first unveiled at the 2011 Chengdu International Auto Show and became a "copycat" online celebrity car because it completely copied the old Audi A4 travel car.

In fact, Sichuan Automobile Mustang is not a fledgling new enterprise, on the contrary, its history is quite profound. Sichuan Automobile Mustang was first born in the late 1980s, when Sichuan Automobile Mustang mainly produced trucks and passenger cars.

In 2009, Sichuan Automobile Mustang began to enter the passenger car field, and launched the first model, Mustang F99, to enter the passenger car market. Due to their own ability is not enough, can only embark on the "shanzhai" road.

Sichuan Mustang Motor Co., Ltd. sued Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. for the Chinese name (Ford Mustang) and its duplicate name of a Mustang model, and filed a lawsuit with the Chengdu Intermediate people's Court on suspicion of trademark infringement. In addition to the need to stop using the Mustang trademark, it also demanded compensation of 10 million yuan.

After two years of litigation, the Chengdu Intermediate people's Court ruled that Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. stopped infringing upon the exclusive right to use the registered trademark of Mustang Motor Company and paid 1 million yuan in compensation. Within 15 days after the judgment came into effect, it published a statement on the front page of "Ford Motor official website" to eliminate the influence-- from now on, Mustang models can no longer be publicized as "Mustang."

This victory not only killed the "Ford Mustang" of the United States, but also made Sichuan Automobile Mustang famous, and even made headlines in foreign media.

Although the Sichuan Automobile Mustang's fame has greatly increased, it has embarked on the road of sale because it does not have any R & D capability. In January, the Mustang sold itself to Reading, the maker of Old Man Le. Reading Electric vehicle and Mustang held a strategic restructuring signing ceremony in Chengdu.

After the reorganization, today March Sichuan Automobile Mustang officially launched a small SUV-- Bojun, but the model was found to be plagiarizing Geely Boyue. However, in the face of such fierce competition in the car market this year, Mustang Bojun's sales have been hovering around 1000 vehicles in the past few months. By the end of June this year, in the face of the early implementation of the sixth national standard, the Mustang was once again in a desperate situation that there would be no cars to sell.
