AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/26 Report--
According to media reports, Baiteng signed a cooperation agreement with Myoungshin, a subsidiary of South Korean parts manufacturer MS Autotech, on Sept. 25, which agreed to Baiteng Motor's contract production in South Korea, and the two sides will cooperate in sales / production / supply chain and investment.
Under the agreement, Myoungshin will start producing electric cars for Baiteng at the GM plant it acquired in 2021.
In June, Myongshin bought a GM plant in the southwestern South Korean city of Gunsan for $99.5 million.
According to the statement, Myongshin will produce 50000 pure electric vehicles a year for Baiteng cars. Park Ho-seok, vice president of SUV Mmuri ByteMagol Myongshin, told Reuters that these M-Byte models will be sold in South Korea and overseas. The factory could allow Baiteng to take advantage of South Korea's free trade agreements with the United States and Europe to avoid some export tariffs.
At the Chengdu Auto Show on September 10 this year, Baiteng unveiled its first model, M-Byte, and announced that the car would be mass produced in mid-2020, first delivered to Chinese car owners, and is expected to accept reservations from Europe and the United States by 2020, and officially enter the European and American market in 2021.
At present, the construction of Baiteng's factory in Nanjing has been basically completed, and the construction and installation of the main equipment of the five major process workshops of stamping, welding, painting, final assembly and battery have been completed, and the factory will start trial production in October.
