AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/28 Report--
In the face of the fact that the development of new energy will be the development direction in the future, all automobile companies have made new energy strategic planning. A few days ago, SAIC Chase released its future new energy strategy blueprint on the same day that the first MAXUS EUNIQ model went offline.
According to the plan, SAIC MAXUS will launch more than 20 new energy vehicles in the next five years, accounting for more than 40 per cent of new energy vehicle sales in 2025. And will cover light passengers, pickups, RVs, SUV and MPV and so on. In this strategy, SAIC Chase will also lay out three technical routes: pure electric, hybrid and fuel cell.
In recent years, SAIC MAXUS is considered to be the new dark horse in the market. SAIC MAXUS sales totaled 10305 vehicles in August, up 45.8 per cent from a year earlier, and 69419 in the first eight months of this year, up 24.7 per cent from a year earlier, according to the data.
There is steady growth in all areas, especially in the pickup sector, where sales increased by 23.92% from January to August compared with the same period last year. SAIC MAXUS T60 ranks first in the middle and high-end pickup market over 100000, and is one of the few brands to maintain positive growth in the off-season pickup market.
The SAIC MAXUS brand was acquired by SAIC when it acquired LDV in 2011, followed by SAIC Datong Automobile Co., Ltd. Earlier, the MAXUS brand officially announced its Chinese name "Maxus".
In the face of the current domestic automobile market is still in the doldrums, but the new energy vehicle market is still being pushed by policies. "We see that many car companies are doing discount promotions to sell new energy cars this year, and many of them are not entirely for sales, but more because of the pressure of double points." Xie Jiayue, deputy general manager of SAIC Chase Technology Center, said frankly that China is still the most potential market for new energy vehicles, and SAIC Chase will continue to dig deep.
On September 26th, SAIC MAXUS EUNIQ 5, a brand new pure electric MPV of SAIC Chase, officially went offline at SAIC Datong Nanjing factory. It is understood that SAIC MAXUS EUNIQ 5 is the first model of MAXUS EUNIQ, which is similar to the positioning and appearance of SAIC MAXUS EG50, which just appeared on the market in July. However, the new car is named after the new new energy model of the SAIC MAXUS brand.
In addition, SAIC MAXUS will also launch plug-in hybrid medium-sized SUV and pure electric medium-sized SUV, which will be named "EUNIQ 6 Plug in" and "EUNIQ 6" respectively. In 2023, an electric pickup will be launched, which will be the first new energy pickup under SAIC MAXUS.
It is worth mentioning that SAIC Chase's model products have been sold to 48 countries and regions around the world, and the first round of new energy product layout has been completed. The pure electric light passenger EV80 launched in 2015 has entered the UK, Ireland, Norway, Spain and other markets. According to the data, the performance of overseas markets is also outstanding, with total overseas sales reaching 10015 vehicles from January to August, an increase of 133% over the same period last year. In addition, SAIC MAXUS said it would introduce EUNIQ models to the European market next year.
In addition to focusing on Europe, SAIC MAXUX plans to enter the Australian and New Zealand market after 2020, and expand the South American market with new energy to form an annual sales market of 10,000 vehicles. And hope that the same results can happen in the future on the EUNIQ series of models. With the layout of SAIC's new MAXUX model, it will also help it seize more market share in the future.
