If all goes well, Seoul also plans to launch seven more hydrogen-powered buses this year and four more hydrogen-powered taxis by 2020.

It is understood that each hydrogen-powered taxi can be charged for 5-6 minutes at a time and can last up to 600km. Since hydrogen fuel is used as power, the by-product discharged by this taxi is water, which not only does not pollute the air, but has the effect of purifying pollutants in the air.

The report also said that hydrogen-powered taxis will charge the same as ordinary medium-sized taxis. Perhaps because it is in the pilot phase, profit is not the main goal.

With the policy support of various countries and the gradual trend of new energy vehicles, the number of hydrogen refueling stations in the world will exceed 1000 by 2020, and the sales volume of hydrogen energy vehicles in the world will exceed 80,000.

Hydrogen-powered vehicles are another new energy travel scheme different from electric vehicles. Compared with electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered vehicles are more environmentally friendly, because if the batteries of electric vehicles are improperly disposed of after scrapping, they will also cause irreparable damage to the environment.

Some analysts believe that electric vehicles are now hot and are becoming the focus of attention in the automotive industry, but they expect that the market will gradually shift to hydrogen-fueled vehicles in the next decade or so.

The real automobile manufacturing countries attach great importance to hydrogen energy. In 2017, BMW and Toyota initiated the establishment of the International Hydrogen Energy Committee. Toyota has Mirai hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. BMW also launched the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle I Hydrogen NEXT at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show. In China, SAIC MAXUS has already opened up the path from hydrogen fuel commercial vehicles to passenger cars.

Although hydrogen power technology is not mature at present, the cost is too high, and there are certain safety risks. But hydrogen-powered cars may still have a place in the automotive market in the near future.
