SAIC GM Wuling officially announced that the Wuling Hongguang Plus will go on sale in October, with an optional 8-seat model, powered by a 1.5T engine with 147hp and a 6MT gearbox, with the same front and rear drive layout. "Wuling Hongguang" is known as the magic car in the Chinese market, which is cheap, practical, easy to worry and has a large quantity. At present, it has launched four series, namely S3, S, S1 and Classic S. Wuling Hongguang Plus will be the fifth largest series of models of the family.

Wuling Hongguang sold 476000 vehicles in 2018 and 220000 from January to August 2019. The sales data are declining, mainly related to the shrinking domestic MPV market. Data show that domestic MPV sales fell 23% from January to August compared with the same period last year, far exceeding the decline in the overall market.
