AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/12 Report--

On March 12, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products.

Recall models: a total of 95694 domestic C-Class, E-Class and GLC SUV cars produced from October 18, 2016 to April 13, 2018 will be recalled.

The reason for the recall: due to the deviation of the supplier's production process in some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the glue layer in the edge area of the steering rack thrust parts of the steering gear is too thin, which may cause the thrust parts not to meet the durability requirements. The outer metal rings of the left and right thrust parts of the steering rack may become loose and eventually get stuck between the rack and the rack housing, resulting in a steering angle of less than 180 degrees on the affected side of the steering wheel.

Solution: Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace qualified steering rack thrust parts for vehicles within the recall range free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.
