Prior to joining SAIC General Motors, Weller served as Audi's distribution development director and Middle East sales director. As the world's largest auto market, Cadillac has achieved breakthrough sales in China for two years in a row. In 2018, the Cadillac brand sold a total of 228000 vehicles, making it the first second-tier luxury brand to exceed 200000 vehicles, an increase of 31.4% over the same period last year, achieving five consecutive years of double-digit growth. GM sold 753926 vehicles in China in the second quarter, down 60, 000 from the first quarter, with all brands falling to varying degrees except for Cadillac, which increased by 22000 compared with the first quarter.

As of August, Cadillac sold 14597 vehicles in China, up 2.1% from a year earlier, making it the fourth largest luxury brand after Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, according to FIFA.
