Volkswagen Group is seeking to transform the direction of electrification, get rid of the negative image of "emission gate" and adapt to the needs of the era of electric vehicles. On March 12, Volkswagen Group officially released its future electrification plan, which will launch 70 electric vehicles within 10 years.

According to the plan, Volkswagen Group will launch nearly 70 electric cars in the next decade, an increase of 20 models from the previous 50 models, and further expand the product lineup. In addition, the number of cars based on the group's electric vehicle platform will increase from 15 million to 22 million.

In terms of investment, Volkswagen plans to invest more than 30 billion euros in the electrification sector by 2023. At present, Volkswagen has confirmed LG Chemical, SKI, Ningde Times and Samsung as its strategic battery supply partners.

In China, Volkswagen plans to withdraw another 10 billion euros to localize the production of more than 20 new energy vehicles in China by 2025.

In addition, as China has announced that the restrictions on joint venture share ratio will be lifted in 2022, Volkswagen is considering conducting an in-depth study on the issue of share ratio adjustment and consulting with Chinese joint venture partners, and is expected to decide whether to increase the holding of joint venture companies in China next year.

Frank Witter, chief financial officer of Volkswagen Group, said that whether or not to increase the stake in the joint venture in China is not a very important issue, but it is of course best if the adjustment of the stock ratio can be achieved.

Volkswagen also announced its 2018 results, with annual sales of 10.8 million vehicles, turnover of 235.8 billion euros and profit of 17.1 billion euros.
