AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)10/05 Report--
As we all know, "platform" is a very important core technology for car companies, which not only requires a lot of time, technology and money to develop, but also different car companies' own "platforms" have different advantages. A few days ago, Volkswagen Group plans to share the MEB platform developed by the group.
It is understood that the PPE platform was jointly developed by Porsche and Audi at a total cost of US $7 billion (RMB 50.034 billion). This platform draws experience from the Volkswagen MEB platform and Porsche platform, and uses the technical modules of the two platforms to optimize the PPE platform in order to produce high-performance luxury models. According to Volkswagen Group's plan, it will be available to Audi, Porsche, Bentley and other luxury brands from 2022.
It can be said that Volkswagen Group is willing to share its intellectual property rights in the electrification field is very great, the group CEO Dis once said: "We can not just build electric cars for the rich, we want to reduce the cost of electric cars." It is not complicated to build an electric car. The most complicated thing is to build an electric car at a reasonable price.
Some media said that luxury brands such as Aston Martin, McLaren and Maserati, which are not profitable, have a strong interest in the PPE platform because they cannot invest a lot of money in developing new energy model platforms.
In fact, in the face of electrification transformation still needs to invest more costs, Volkswagen hopes to expand the scale of cooperation with other car companies in electric vehicles, sharing the cost of research and development. In July, Ford and Volkswagen signed a $10 billion to $20 billion (71.48 billion to 142.95 billion yuan) cooperation agreement valid for six years, during which Ford will use Volkswagen's MEB platform to design and mass-produce a pure electric car for its European customers.
According to the plan, the first PPE platform product will be unveiled as early as 2022. Porsche has also revealed that the first models based on the PPE platform will be all-electric versions of the Cayman and Boxster and will be officially launched in 2022.
The development of electrification has become the most important transformation plan of Volkswagen at present, because the public is also aware that the future is the trend of electrification, and if the government is more stringent on emissions, it will face greater challenges if it is not prepared in advance. Nowadays, the public pays a lot of energy and money for emission time.
