In fact, in the face of electrification transformation still needs to invest more costs, Volkswagen hopes to expand the scale of cooperation with other car companies in electric vehicles, sharing the cost of research and development. In July, Ford and Volkswagen signed a $10 billion to $20 billion (71.48 billion to 142.95 billion yuan) cooperation agreement valid for six years, during which Ford will use Volkswagen's MEB platform to design and mass-produce a pure electric car for its European customers.

According to the plan, the first PPE platform product will be unveiled as early as 2022. Porsche has also revealed that the first models based on the PPE platform will be all-electric versions of the Cayman and Boxster and will be officially launched in 2022.
