The position of Cadillac's second-tier luxury top name is threatened. Cadillac reported sales of 18350 vehicles in China in September, down 8.3 per cent from a year earlier and 20007 in the same period last year. Cadillac sold 164048 vehicles in the first nine months of this year, up 0.9 per cent from a year earlier.

On the same day, Lexus reported that it sold 17736 units in China in September, up 10.2% from a year earlier, while cumulative sales from January to September this year were 144590, up 22.8% from a year earlier. Lexus, which has been growing, is approaching Cadillac, which is in decline.

In terms of models, the compact SUV XT4 sold 3733 vehicles in September, up 61.4% from a year earlier, bringing the cumulative sales this year to 35911; the XT5 model sold 38954 vehicles this year; and the medium and large SUV XT6, which just went on sale at the end of July, has sold 7536 vehicles. In terms of cars, CT6 sold 2899 cars in September, up 84.1% from a year earlier, and the cumulative sales in the previous September reached 14428, up 17.1% from a year earlier. ATS Murray L and XTS are only sold in some regions because they are only available in the national five emission version.

As for the new car, the Cadillac XT6 went on sale in July with an official guidance price of 41.97-549700. The new car is located in a medium and large SUV, with a 2.0T variable cylinder turbocharged engine in the powertrain and a nine-speed automatic transmission. In September, XT6 added three new seven-seater models with a price range of 41.97 yuan to 459700 yuan.

The domestic CT5 was officially unveiled at the Chengdu Auto Show in September and will go on sale on October 20, replacing the market position of ATS-L and XTS. The new car will be equipped with a 2.0T engine with an official pre-sale of 28-340000 yuan.

In the new car plan, SAIC GM Cadillac will also make a domestic CT4 sedan with lower positioning and price.

Through the strategy of slashing prices, Cadillac sales have stabilized, but it has also damaged the market reputation. In the new car, Cadillac is expected to adopt a more pragmatic pricing method, reduce market discounts and stabilize the price system.
