In the first nine months of this year, Porsche delivered 64237 new cars in China, up 14% from a year earlier. Porsche, the world's second-largest market, delivered 45062 new vehicles in the US, up 6 per cent from a year earlier. Porsche sports models are still popular in the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and the Middle East, with deliveries of 86235 new cars, an increase of 11% compared with the same period last year.

In terms of specific models, there is a strong market demand for Porsche Cayenne and Macan models. The Cayenne model has once again become the strongest driver of growth, with 62022 new car deliveries, a growth of more than 25 per cent. Cayenne Coup é, a derivative of the Cayenne series, recently launched a plug-in hybrid sports car. In addition, 73967 Macan units were delivered in the first three quarters, and the delivery of new cars increased by 9 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Despite the current poor economic situation in China and the United States, Porsche has made remarkable achievements in defending its position in both markets. In the European market, there was a shortfall in Porsche's deliverable vehicles in the first few months of this year due to the switch to a globally unified light vehicle test program (WLTP) and gasoline particulate filters, which also led to a decline in sales in Europe compared with the same period last year.

Finally, Porsche launched its first all-electric sports car, the Taycan, in early September, which will be available in the US at the end of 2019 and then in China and Europe in 2020.

Mr. Feng Peide, a member of Porsche's global executive board of directors, said: "the growth of the Chinese and American markets makes us positive and optimistic about achieving our full-year sales targets. In the medium term, there are signs of a slight slowdown in overall sales growth, which we will keep a close eye on. Nevertheless, we remain optimistic about the future, which is also due to the order for the new Porsche Taycan. "
