Today, China Automotive Technology Research Center Co., Ltd. released the evaluation results of the third batch of seven models in 2019 in Tianjin. There are a total of 7 crash test models, of which 6 received a 5-star rating and a 2-star rating.

It is understood that four of the models are traditional fuel vehicles, including A Class 1, B Class 1, SUV 2; the others are 3 pure electric models. There are three joint venture models and four independent models. The specific models are: SAIC Volkswagen Xinlang Yi, FAW Toyota Asia Dragon, SAIC Roewe MARVEL X, BYD Qin Pro EV, Beijing Hyundai Shengda, Jianghuai iEV7S and Chery Tiger 8.

The main purpose of C-NCAP is to carry out three kinds of collision tests for a vehicle model, such as the frontal collision of vehicle speed 50km/h with 100% overlap rate of rigid fixed obstacle avoidance, the frontal offset collision of vehicle speed 64km/h with 40% overlap rate of deformable barrier, and the side collision of deformable mobile barrier speed 50km/h and vehicle. The test score and total score are calculated according to the test data, and the star level is determined by the total score.

From the perspective of specific models, the electric model Roewe MARVEL X got the highest score, with a comprehensive score of 91.6%. At the same time, it got the highest comprehensive score of new energy models and all test models. From the test pictures, the vehicle did not burst side airbags, the front wheel moved backward, and the rear wheel left the ground.

Hyundai Shengda, which is also an SUV, scored 89.6%. From the 64km/h front 40% bias collision test, the front axle wheel moved backward, but the A column did not change much, and the rear wheel did not leave the ground, but it can be seen that the side airbag and the air curtain were not designed to detonate. The front cover of Chirui Tiger 8 was seriously damaged, with all four wheels off the ground, with a comprehensive score of 84.8%, which was the lowest in this test SUV model.

In terms of cars, the Asian dragon launched by FAW Toyota did not get the highest score, second only to Volkswagen Xinlang Yi, with a comprehensive score of 87.8%. In the 64km/h front 40% bias collision test, the front cover of the Asian dragon was seriously damaged and the front wheel moved backward, but the side airbags burst to protect them. It is worth mentioning that the Asian Dragon has achieved good results in the tests such as IIHS in the United States and NCAP in Europe, and the previous China Insurance Research Institute also got a G (excellent) score.

As a pure electric car, Qin Pro EV ranks second in electric car and third in car with a comprehensive score rate of 84.5%.
