According to media reports, Renault held a board meeting today, and the meeting finally voted to remove Bolore from the post of CEO.

In addition, the board decided that CFO Clotilde Delbos would take up the position of Renault CEO; Olivier Murguet and Jose Vincente de los Mozos would be appointed Deputy Managing Directors to assist Delbos in his work; and Renault Chairman Dominique Sennard would be president of Renault.

It is understood that in November last year, Ghosn was arrested in Japan after being accused of underreporting his remuneration in violation of the Financial Commodities Trading Law. In January, Renault appointed Bolores, chief operating officer, to succeed Ghosn as chief executive.

Because of the close relationship between Bolore and Ghosn, after Ghosn's arrest, Bolore expressed his support for Ghosn, which angered Nissan.

Some industry insiders said that the Renault Nissan alliance has been in a relationship for more than 20 years, and since Ghosn's arrest, the relationship between Nissan and Renault has gradually deteriorated.

In addition, the failure of the merger between Renault and FCA in May led to a freezing point in the relationship between Nissan and Renault. Sennard has been working to promote the merger of Nissan and Renault since Sennard became chairman of Renault, but it was opposed by Nissan and Nissan when seeking a merger with FCA.

In order to repair the relationship with Nissan, to some extent, the changes in Renault's senior management follow the internal adjustment of Nissan, which helps to ease the tension in the Nissan alliance.

On Oct. 9, Nissan officially announced that its board of directors will appoint senior vice president, chairman of Nissan's China Management Committee and president of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. as Nissan CEO.

In addition, Nissan also appointed Gupta, chief operating officer of Mitsubishi Motors, and Guan run, senior vice president of Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Automobile Alliance, as deputy chief operating officer.

It is understood that Nissan joined Nissan in 2003 and succeeded Guan run as president of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd in April 2018 after working in the purchasing department of Nissan and Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance for many years. In April this year, Nissan served as chairman of the China Management Committee of Nissan.

Nissan has a close relationship with Renault, and Nissan's senior appointment is a "victory of the alliance", which will help ease the relationship between Nissan and Renault. Two days after Nissan reappointed CEO, Renault also made senior changes that, in a sense, helped restart Nissan's Renault negotiations.
