According to public information, a total of 236881 new energy vehicles applied for subsidies, of which 29472 vehicles did not meet the subsidy requirements, so a total of 207409 models received the subsidy, with a total liquidation subsidy of 22.027 billion yuan.

The main reason for the models that did not get the subsidy was that they failed to drive 20,000 kilometers. According to the 2016 subsidy policy for new energy vehicles, new energy vehicles purchased by non-individual users are required to travel a total of 30,000 kilometers before they can apply for subsidies, and the subsidy policy was adjusted to 20,000 kilometers in 2018. this is mainly to deal with the problem that operating vehicles are idle. In addition, the reasons for not passing the audit are not connected to the national regulatory platform, the uploaded data is not in compliance with the policy and the requirements of the national standard, the energy density of the battery pack is inconsistent with the recommended catalogue, the power of the drive motor is inconsistent with the recommended catalogue, and the invoice information of key components is inconsistent with the recommended catalogue.

Judging from the subsidy funds obtained by car companies, Yutong Motor ranked first with a total subsidy of 4.59 billion yuan, with 20713 declared models receiving subsidies; BYD and Zhongtong Motor were 3.461 billion yuan and 1.12 billion yuan respectively, and 30174 and 5508 vehicles were declared and approved respectively.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has only counted the central government's subsidies for new energy vehicles, and the amount is likely to double if local subsidies in 2017 are added.

At present, the subsidies for new energy vehicles are accelerated to decline, and local subsidies are also gradually withdrawn, and the application and examination conditions tend to be stricter in the future. It will only be more difficult for car companies to get new energy subsidies. At the same time, the withdrawal of subsidies also accelerates the development of the new energy industry from policy promotion to market promotion.
