Compared with last month, the market only achieved month-on-month growth under the stimulation of the "Golden Nine" in the traditional peak season, of which car sales in September were 859000, down 11.2% from a year earlier, up 13.2% from January to September, down 9.4% from a year earlier. MPV sales in September were 114000, down 14.5% from a year earlier, up 16.0% from a month earlier. Cumulative sales from January to September were 1.005 million, down 19.3 per cent from a year earlier; SUV sales in September were 809000, up 0.6 per cent from a year earlier, up 14.5 per cent from a month earlier, down 5.8 per cent from a year earlier.
In terms of brands, luxury brands are still growing this year, both against and against the trend. For example, Beijing Mercedes-Benz grew 20.5% in September compared with the same period last year. Compared with joint venture brands, German and Japanese brands are more prominent in the market, because previously frequently exposed French brands continue to decline this month, while independent brands have their own advantages. As the most prominent independent brand, Great Wall Automobile surged 17.9% in September compared with the same period last year due to many joint venture independent brands.
In the ranking of cars in specific segments, the ranking does not change much compared with August, in which Volkswagen brand models occupy more seats, and the year-on-year growth of Volkswagen brand models is further expanded compared with August. For example, New Bora expanded to 102.6% from 35.2% last month. Toyota Corolla also climbed in September due to the replacement of new models, growing from more than 16,000 in August to more than 26,000. With the passage of time, Carola will return to the front position; the Accord in medium-sized cars is affected by the "stall door". But sales still grew, returning to 20, 000 in September, while Volkswagen's Passat was still in first place, but it was not far from Accord, and sales also declined month-on-month.
The ranking of SUV models has changed a lot. Honda CR-V, Qijun and Xiaoke of Japanese brands dropped sharply in September, falling outside the 5th place from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places in August, almost swapping with German brands. Due to the listing of Changan CS75 PLUS, the series rose from 10th to 4th place last month. Harvard H6 still ranks first among independent brands, but sales exceed 30,000, and another Harvard M6 also appears on the list, while Geely's Boyue even surpassed Japanese brands in September. Sales of Audi Q5 among luxury brands continue to grow, continuing to be the champion of luxury SUV, and Mercedes-Benz GLCs are also on the list.
In the MPV sector, the ranking also did not change much, with Buick GL8 sales further expanding to 28.4% year-on-year in September; BYD Song declined year-on-year, but the ring was larger, ranking fourth in September; among them, Chevrolet Warlando went public in September last year, compared with the same period last year.
The luxury brand sector is basically the same as last month's ranking, except for the month-on-month growth in sales. The BMW 5-Series topped the list with monthly sales of 16263, while Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Mercedes-Benz E-Class ranked second and third respectively. Among them, the sales volume of the new 3 series has doubled compared with that of last month, which shows that the sales of the new 3 series are also climbing.
On the whole, the car market picked up in September this year under the influence of the peak season market, in which the growth rate of the luxury car market is still higher than that of the overall automobile market, and consumers have begun to shift from high performance-to-price models to high-quality-to-price models. The decline of cheap and low-end products is becoming more and more obvious, and the advantages of middle and high-end products are also more prominent. On the other hand, the key models of independent brands also stopped the decline after a series of updated actions to improve competitiveness.
